Magnate: Life & Empire ("Magnate", "the game", "we", "us") is a free multiplayer life-and-tycoon simulation game. This policy explains what information the game collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By creating an account and playing, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account credentials. A username (a handle you choose) and a password. Passwords are stored in hashed form — we never store or see your plain-text password. We do not require or collect an email address to create an account.
• Gameplay data. The information your game generates as you play — your in-game characters, virtual (play-money) balances, progress, items, companies, achievements, and similar state. This is stored on our server so your progress persists between sessions.
• Player messages. Chat messages and similar in-game communications you send to other players. These are stored so they can be displayed in the game and reviewed for moderation.
• Technical data. Standard server logs generated by any website, including your IP address and basic request information, kept temporarily for security, abuse prevention (rate limiting), and diagnosing problems.

2. Information we do NOT collect

Magnate does not collect your real name, email address, phone number, precise or approximate location, contacts, photos, or any real financial information. All money in the game is fictional play-money with no real-world value. The game contains no advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics or tracking tools.

3. How we use information

• To operate the game — log you in, save your progress, and let you interact with other players.
• To keep the game safe and fair — enforce our rules, prevent cheating and abuse, apply rate limits, and review reports.
• To diagnose and fix technical problems.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your data.

4. Chat, visibility, and moderation

Magnate is a multiplayer game. Your chosen username, your in-game character names, and any messages you post are visible to other players in the same game world. To keep the community safe, the game includes:

• An automated word filter that censors offensive language and blocks offensive account and character names;
• Tools for players to block other players and to report players or messages; and
• Human review of reports by the game's administrators, who may warn, restrict, or ban accounts that break the rules.

Please do not share personal information about yourself or others in chat.

5. How information is shared

We do not share your information with third parties for their own purposes. Information is processed only by:

• Our hosting provider (IONOS), which operates the server infrastructure the game runs on; and
• Google Play, which distributes the app. Any data Google Play collects as the app store is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our players.

6. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account exists so your progress is preserved. Server logs are kept only for a short period. You can request that your account and its associated data be deleted at any time by emailing us at the address below; we will delete it within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain certain information by law.

7. Security

All communication between the app and our server is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children's privacy

Magnate is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). The game contains mature themes and is intended for a teen and older audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced in the game.
